Workshop Descriptions
Girl Scout Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes have the opportunity to select GS-level workshops they wish to attend. Our 2024 registration form offers 8 workshops for each level from which to choose. Camp staff will do their best to honor each camper's choices.
Workshops will be held if there is sufficient girl interest in them. Some workshops have maximum participation limits. Each workshop offers fun requirements that may help campers earn a Girl Scout level badge or patch.
Please note: Our Girl Scout Daisy camper program is designed just for future 1st graders. These girls will stay together as a 'unit' each day of camp.
Our campers will also enjoy traditional Girl Scout activities such as songs, games, SWAPS and ceremonies.

Daisy Patch Program
Girls entering 1st grade will earn patches as they expand their knowledge of Girl Scouts, Science, their Community, Art and the Out-of-doors.

Living Like Laura
This Brownie workshop is all about author Laura Ingalls Wilder and her story. Girls will learn about the pioneer days, do a craft or game from her childhood and discuss why Laura’s life story is important. [This patch is from the Girl Scout of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois Council and is worn on the back of a Brownie’s uniform.]
Making Games
Girls love playing games – but can they use their imagination to make one up? They can in this workshop!

Oil Up
As a raw material that is used to make many things we use every day or as an energy source, oil remains an important substance in our lives today. It’s a relevant topic, especially in the Houston area.

Outdoor Cooking
Girls will be learning outdoor cooking skills and trying recipes appropriate for Girl Scout Juniors.
Playing the Past

Camp Service
Cadettes will earn Girl Scout service work hours while doing hands-on projects. 8th graders who have earned the LiA and PA training may earn credit hours toward their PA Pin.
Field Day
Girl Scouts have been inventing their own games since 1912! In this workshop, girls will experience how to organize an event with competitive teams participating in a wide variety of games!
It’s About Time
An exploration of time – the science of it, time pieces, its effects in nature, changes over time, time management (students vs working adults), and the future. How can time be depicted in photographs or art? So many things to think about – will there be enough time?!
Outdoor Art Apprentice
Some of our greatest works of art are inspired by nature. Get ready to observe and collect things outdoors that will drive your art and creativity—from colors and patterns to landscapes and wildlife.
Outdoor Cooking
Girls will be learning outdoor cooking skills and trying recipes appropriate for Girl Scout Cadettes.
Plant Culture
Plants are the producers of our world. Food, paper, fabrics, medicines, building materials – even the fuels we burn! Explore the plant world through this badge workshop.
'Retired' badges are badges from past years. These badges may look different than current GS badges with different colors or different shapes. Retired badges should still be placed on the front of a GS uniform.
