About This Year's Camp

Girls will have a ton of fun while celebrating the best of Texas' past, present and future. Join the Texan fun, earn Girl Scout badges, take part in Girl Scout traditions and make new friends!

Camp Colony Creek is hosted by the Colony Creek Girl Scout Community and relies 100% on volunteers for its programs.  Parents and family members from many of GSSJC's Communities join our volunteer team to make this twilight camp happen.  The camp is specifically designed to allow working parents the opportunity to volunteer in the late afternoon and into the evening.

Camper fees include program supplies, our 2024 camp t-shirt and camp patch, badges/patches earned at camp and some surprises. We will provide information regarding which badges the campers have earned/partially earned.

Girl Scout Levels at Camp Colony Creek 2024

    Campers

    • Daisy (rising 1st graders)
    • Brownie (rising 2nd/3rd graders)
    • Junior (rising 4th/5th graders)
    • Cadette (rising 6th/7th/8th graders)

Girl Scout Daisies work on a patch program designed just for them. Girl Scout Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes have an opportunity to choose their preferred workshops. Each workshop offers fun requirements for campers to earn a Girl Scout level badge or patch.

    Other Camp Participants

Program Aides are Girl Scout Cadettes going into 8th grade who assist Older Girl Workshop Leaders and/or Adult Workshop Leaders with various camp workshops. Our 'OWLs' (Older Girl Workshop Leaders) are Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors, who volunteer as workshop leaders to help younger girls earn badges or patches.

Adult Volunteers serve as Cadette workshop leaders, program 'experts', safety help, first aiders, room monitors and as members of the Camp Core Committee which plans, organizes, prepares for months to bring the 3-day camp to life.

TAGs (short for 'Tagalong') are children of a Camp Adult Volunteers who would not be registered as a girl camper.

      • Girls, age 3 through 5 (rising Kindergarteners)
      • Boys, age 3 through rising 5th graders

    2024 Workshops

Girl Scout Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes have the opportunity to select GS-level workshops they wish to attend.  Our 2024 registration form offers 8 workshops for each level from which to choose. Camp staff will do their best to honor each camper's choices.

Workshops will be held if there is sufficient girl interest in them. Some workshops have maximum participation limits. Each workshop offers fun requirements that may help campers earn a Girl Scout level badge or patch.

Please note: Our Girl Scout Daisy camper program is designed just for future 1st graders. These girls will stay together as a 'unit' each day of camp.

Our campers will also enjoy traditional Girl Scout activities such as songs, games, SWAPS and ceremonies.
